Is God's Gift Destroying You?

No matter what gift God gives you, the potential for your acceleration or your destruction is present. God gives you His power and trusts you in the world with it.

We who are Christians have both, the Spirit of God AND our fallen nature. Both have a voice. Our success or our destruction is determined by which voice we lean into and follow with our heart and our actions. The gifts of God are full of power and carry the glory of God to bring about incredible transformation in those who we use the gifts on. If we are locked into the heart and essence of God, they bring healing, life, freedom and acceleration. However, our fallen nature must navigate the blessing of God’s holy power as well, it will see this power from a different set of eyes. Some who have been given a gift (because of a lack of Christ Like maturity) will use it for selfish purposes, some may become prideful, boastful, desire to be esteemed by men and may not use it for the purposes of God’s definition of love. Let’s look at a couple of examples:

The gift of faith.

Some people have the highly coveted gift of faith. (Everyone has been given a measure of faith and that measure of faith is grown by use. So while some may have the “gift” of faith, we ALL have a measure of faith and this faith is powerful.) The one who is mature and has a strong love bond with God will use this gift to move mountains in the lives of others. They see the positive potential in every situation and speak those things that are not yet as though they are. They believe in the potential for the impossible to become possible no matter what they see with their eyes. They see yes where others see no. They see the probability that their prayers will change the course of history and better the future for people, homes, businesses, nations and limitless other situations and scenarios.

The immature child of God who is still worldly and hasn’t been converted to host the heart of God (having a fear bond with God) will sadly have great power of faith for things negative. They see negativity everywhere and a no where there should be a yes. They speak out their disbelief of good things and put great power into believing for the worst outcome to be the outcome that will manifest. And it usually does. For this individual the gift of faith is very destructive and creates even more faith for the negativity to continue as the power of their belief is manifested by their own spoken words. Then they say, “see, I told you it would turn out this way.” Not realizing it was their negative faith that gave it life and brought it about. Faith is the gift, it is the heart that chooses where the power is made manifest.

The gift of healings:

For the mature child, this gift brings about much good for those who receive prayer. Each healing brings greater and greater faith in God to both the giver and the receiver. It brings great glory to God as His love and power are made manifest in the world to prove yet again that He is the living God who heals you. God is real! and the one carrying the gift is left awestruck every time God uses them with such great power in love.

For the immature child who is not grounded in selfless love, not having a humble servant's heart or understanding that all the power they are moving in initiates with God alone, they can become prideful with such great power. Some fully understand the power is from God...but still see it as “their gift” and “they” are powerful and special. They think highly of themselves and wish to be esteemed by others. Some rob God of His glory and enjoy the accolades for themselves and while their mouths say “give God glory”, they are empty words, their fallen-nature hungry for validation and adoration by man. They loved the gift and its power...not it’s true intended purpose. These are in danger of hearing, “depart from me, I never knew you.”

Each time God gives a gift to man, He knows that the man will face many battles in his walk with it. With the gift of His Spirit, He has given them a chance to move in the power that belongs to God as their own power. What will this man/woman do with the very power of God? What will you do with it? I can’t put it into words just how incredible it is that God trusts us with such great power. Which voice will you listen to? Will you become an incredible asset to the kingdom revealing the heart of God to man through man, or will you follow after the voice of your fallen nature and be self destroyed by this same gift? Each gift given has the power to reveal the kingdom of heaven and equally the kingdom of darkness that is within the one who receives the gift. What will you do with God’s power? What will be revealed about you? Which kingdom comes forth and which is made manifest through God’s gift of power to you in the world?

The gifts of God contain an endless capacity of power to be unlocked as we co-labor with God by His Spirit to reveal Christ and what belongs to us as His children. It is absolutely endless what God can do with one who will use their gift as it was designed. Which way the power will be manifested in the world is fully dependent on the receiver of the gift.

What are you doing with God’s power? Will you pursue the One who has pursued you and give His gifts back to Him by using them in the world as He is? He is trusting you with much.
