In each segment there will be both a written blog and a link to a video of the teaching. Each segment will be another piece of the puzzle to your journey into a life lived with peace as your constant companion. Bless you on your journey!

Part 1: Peace comes when we have nothing to hide. Wouldn’t it be great to live your life where ‘what you see is what you get’, that you can be 100% authentically you all the time, there is absolutely nothing to hide.

I want you to be able to recognize when you are in peace and when you have lost your peace, and how to find your way back there.

Having nothing to hide is powerful friends. It’s this place of choosing to live with your conscience clean. It’s this place of choosing to live where there are no walls. As if every wall is see-through and therefore nothing is hidden from the view of others. Our character is determined by what we do when no one is looking.

Peace is found in the high place, the place of purity and integrity, living a life of honor where what you show people is the authentic you that is shameless. There is nothing in you that would make you feel guilt or shame, nothing in you that is punishable. You are an open book that anyone can read. You walk in purity, integrity, faithfulness, you are trustworthy and honorable, you walk in the image of God; this gives you peace. You are able to just be yourself at all times. No pretending.

So, what if this isn’t the case for you yet. Let’s look at some ways that we hide and how we can be proactive in making amazing life changes that lead to a life full of peace. It all begins in our heart.

  1. Our minds: This is the thought realm. It doesn’t matter if the thoughts are birthed from within you or if they come to you from another source, we are told to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. The key to peace is Christ. In ALL things, do it WITH Christ. Be led by the Holy Spirit. Pay attention to your thoughts. Become an observer of what is going on there. Would you be OK if others could hear your thoughts? Pretend that they can! This is powerful. TREAT YOUR THOUGHTS AS IF THEY CAN BE HEARD. Dismiss bad ones that would cause you to feel judged or to feel shame and give them no place. Don’t let them gain your attention. Change your mind and think about things that do not cause you to feel convicted at heart. Go somewhere else with your mind and think about things that would be honorable before God, before man and to honor yourself. DO NOT fall into self condemnation here. Be kind. Simply see what is going on and become proactive in changing who you want to be. No longer one who needs to pretend to be something you are not yet, but become that amazing pure vessel that is always able to walk fully in the light. You will richly bless yourself when you are free from all that brings self condemnation. You were born to enjoy peace and it is readily available to you! It comes through our choices.

  1. Your imagination: This is where you have mind pictures or little movies that play out. Jesus taught that if we lust in our heart against someone, it is as if we actually committed adultery. As a christian, we feel dirty if we entertain such images in our minds. Live your life as if everyone around can see what you are seeing inside the privacy of your mind. Did you know the bible teaches that everything done in secret will be brought out into the light at our judgement? Your spirit in Christ knows this and that is why when such thoughts and images are allowed room, we feel dirty and deep conviction and even self condemnation. We have a choice, we can choose to keep it hidden until judgment day when it will be brought to light and never have peace, or choose to bring it into the light now by confessing it to God, repent from it and be cleansed, in so doing we are promised forgiveness and righteousness so that on judgement day there will be no shame or condemnation, it is blotted out as if it never happened AND you experience incredible peace as there is now nothing in your heart to condemn you. WE are in charge of our hearts and get to choose to walk in peace or to continue holding onto what robs us of peace and the power that comes from walking with a clean heart before God.

  1. Walls: Lastly, live a life that would be acceptable if there were no walls, or if the walls were see-through. When you are at home, at the workplace or anywhere else for that matter, live a life of excellence.

When you live your life fully authentic with nothing that could cause you to feel shame, guilt or to fear punishment, you will live a life experiencing peace. Peace with God, Peace with man and Peace within your own heart towards yourself. It is one thing to try to trick God or others into thinking you are good, but you can never trick your own heart. It knows the truth. Live your life so that your own heart does not condemn you and you will live in the light and experience the peace of God always with you. This is a work in progress for each of us. Thoughts will come, pictures will come, be kind to yourself along the journey. Be patient with yourself, good to yourself, gentle hearted as you witness things as they come, and with open hands, give your heart to Jesus and as friends with Him, let Him help you clean your house. Love yourself, as this too is part of the growth in experiencing peace.

Bless you on your journey.
